SMART MULTI-STAGE CHARGING The 12V 40A DC to DC smart charger changes different charge modes to match your battery type. For LiFePO4 Battery it will charge in 2-step mode (CC, CV), for Lead Acid Battery it will charge by 3-stage charging (Bulk, Absorption, and Float). It can optimize the charging efficiency of different types of batteries and extend their service life. It also can wake up your lithium battery after BMS protection.

VARIOUS PROTECTION SAFETY This LiTime battery charger with high-quality offers over-voltage protection, low-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, short circuit protection, and output reverse polarity protection to ensure operation safety. What type of alternator is this DC to DC on board battery charger compatible with?

This battery charger is designed to work with both conventional and smart alternators. However, because conventional alternators maintain a consistent voltage during charging, while smart alternators adjust their charging output based on operating conditions, it is necessary to connect the charger to the smart alternator using the Signal cable provided with the package through the Vehicle Ignition Port.

What types of battery does the charger support?

It's suitable for 12V Lithium, Gel, AGM, and Calcium batteries. This charger enables the batteries to reach a full 100% charge. Additionally, it has the capability to jump start lithium batteries that have become discharged to a low voltage.

How do I know if the charger is working properly?

Bought this for charging lithium batteries in my trailer - Important considerations

I bought this to charge my lithium batteries in my teardrop camper trailer. I wanted to be sure while I was driving down the road that my batteries would be safely charged from the alternator. When I went to mount it in my camper and connect it to my vehicle's power (through the plug from the tow vehicle), it would not charge properly due to the wire size coming from the car being too small. I believe the wires in my camper from connector to the vehicle are 12 gauge. It would start charging, then stop and reset. The manual indicates that the wire size from the vehicle to the battery needs to be 6 AWG. That's big wire. I finally tested it right next to my tow vehicle's battery with large gauge wire and the battery being charged right next to it and it worked when I did that. I could mount it inside my tow vehicle, but then I'd need to have a special power connector / large wires just for the charging to my trailer. I would also need to drill holes in my camper to get the new wires in. That solution is unworkable for me, so I am forced to return it. Disappointed, but you cannot change the laws of physics. I wish I would have known this prior to buying it.

Keeps them topped off

Have two of the Li Time lithium batteries in our conversion van. Although he inverter charges them while plugged into shore power, it's really nice to know that they're also topped off while driving. Using only the 20A charge rate but it works great and gives us more peace of mind.

BTW, the batteries are also super!!!!!!!!
