    FAQ

Q: What type of battery is this charger suitable for charging?

    A:

This lithium battery charger is suitable for all types of 48V deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries, offering a reliable and efficient charging solution for various applications. Whether you're using it for golf carts, off-grid home energy backup, or other uses, this charger is designed to optimize battery performance and longevity.

Incorporating advanced charging technology, it ensures that your batteries receive the correct voltage and current, enhancing their lifespan while prioritizing safety. The charger features a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) that protects against overcharging, overheating, and short circuits, providing peace of mind throughout the charging process.

Q: Is it OK to charge LiFePO4 to 100%?

    A:

Yes, LiTime LiFePO4 batteries can be charged to 100%. Unlike some other lithium battery chemistries, LiFePO4 batteries are designed to handle full charges without significant risk of damage. However, for optimal longevity, it’s often recommended to keep the battery's SOC  between 20% and 80% for regular use.

Q: Is it bad to completely drain a LiFePO4 battery?

    A:

It is not recommended to fully discharge LiFePO4 batteries. Although these batteries can handle deep discharges better than lead-acid batteries, frequently discharging them to 0% can reduce their lifespan and performance. It's best to recharge the battery before it drops below a very low level, ideally at 20% or higher.

Q: Is it OK to leave a LiFePO4 battery on the charger?

    A:

Although it is generally safe to leave a LiFePO4 battery on the charger, as both the charger and the battery itself have a BMS to prevent overcharging, it’s still best to monitor the charging process.

Once the battery is fully charged, disconnecting it promptly is recommended to avoid unnecessary damage.

For convenience, LiTime offers chargers with Anderson connectors, allowing you to stop charging simply by unplugging the Anderson connector without needing to separate the battery terminals from the screws after charging.

However, for optimal safety, it’s advised to first unplug the AC plug before disconnecting the Anderson connector.

Not IP65 worthy and does not fully charge batteries with one charge. My advice is, do not purchase.

I would highly advise against purchasing this battery charger. I purchased this battery charger with two Li-Time L51.2V100-100-Basic-16-A250 batteries. To fully charge my Li-Time batteries, according to the Li-Time directions for this charger, this charger needs to be hooked up and allowed to fully charge the batteries until the battery charger's green light indicates the battery is charged. Well, that's not exactly how this Li-Time charger works on my Li-Time batteries. In the manual for the Li-Time batteries, there is a chart, that tells you what the voltage reading should be for a fully charged battery, in the case of my batteries, using this charger, both made by Li-Time, and both the batteries and charger are new, I have found that this battery charger must be allowed to charge my batteries three times, to a supposedly full charge, before the batteries are actually fully charged according to the battery manual's voltage reading chart. This makes even the normally long process of charging a battery, now take days to do. You have to hook the charger up for nearly a full day before the green light comes on, unhook it, let the battery sit for at least 3 hours to take a state of charge reading, then repeat, hooking it up for a full day, etc. I find this unacceptable. On top of this, Li-Time claims this charger to be IP65 rated. I doubt that anyone really gave this charger that rating. The way that this charger's electrical cord is assembled makes it extremely likely to stop working or cause an electrical shock if used in a normal rain on a table, as shown in advertising for this charger. The electrical cord'sconnections that are screwed together are a joke. They have an o-ring to seal the connection on the ends with threads for a ring to screw onto, but on the other end of that connection, the cord runs through a hole in the plastic housing ring, totally unsealed, this is the same connection that has an o-ring on it's other end, meaning that the rain water can run right through the hole and into the wire contacts, which they went to the trouble on the other end to use an o-ring to seal water out from these contacts. The black, outer insulation of the electrical cord I am talking about, doesn't even extend into this plastic housing on my cord, and it's like that on both ends, you can see the black and red wires that are supposed to be protected by insulation, outside of the housing. Who does that? All the stress that the actual wire contacts/connections are going to be placed under, just to hold the electrical cord inside of the housing, during day to day handling, is totally unacceptable. Maybe the housing of the charger itself will survive being used in the rain, but I sure wouldn't want to be sitting at the table it is being used on, because this cord is a lawsuit waiting to happen when someone gets electrocuted by it. Again, I would highly advise against purchasing this battery charger. It is not safe to use in wet conditions, at least mine isn't, and it does not charge batteries as it is intended to do, unless you want to take three days to charge a battery, and you don't mind running the risk of being shocked by a faulty electrical cord connection that is not capable of being given an IP65 rating. To Li-Time. I'm not a person that likes using cell phones and cameras, I'm not taking pictures or shooting videos and posting them here for you, or sending them to you via email. If you want to send me an email and discuss this further, go ahead and send me an email, but my review of this product stands, it is honest and to the point. I'll gladly send this battery charger back to Li-Time so you can analyze the problems with it and issue me a full refund of my payment for this product, but I'm not paying to send it back, that's up to you to pay for it to be shipped back. Send me an email with a shipping label for this, that includes a tracking number, and I'll send it back, but I better have a full refund to my credit card within 48 hours of that tracking number showing it has been delivered to the address on the shipping label.

I’ve had nothing but problems. Customer service has yet to refund my money. They have not given me any information about how and where to send both of their products back. Don’t do it. Save your money.
